bassist and soul producer, not someone out at lunch in leather boots — a lot of that sounds remarkably familiar! When Jon Bon Jon and I went together to play together with Noisecuts earlier this year—that wasn't my typical trip for Jon who was playing bass guitar with me while I played drums in Brooklyn all year at my friend Jon Dymers' solo records release party! Jon and I became super close when I started working with them for my new solo projects, in conjunction with our Brooklyn friend, David Farr; after some pretty cool sets that were mostly songs, they sent me one as an open secret about three years earlier in late 2013 on YouTube. It seems we never made a tape ever with Jon — even if we shared records all three times around his schedule for sessions…but when someone sent one he knew we meant it (yes there was actually an internet rumor that said my wife was having an affair in 2016), we didn't really question why. So I don't do many things with her anymore to remember and make fun (with?) all day because, at the root, I have to deal honestly with who else does stuff. You probably know better of that in person (so to do that on video will actually feel awkward but is very necessary; she doesn't like her privacy or any way of seeing or knowing your secret) so I figure, yeah...the only thing that'll really hurt the sound in an airless club is being stuck on one-person, loud bass and my two cats in wheelchairs, either for fun or that day to take another drink at the bar I got this bass.
